But, this time, it's in a whole different wack-of-the-wood.
STIHL Timbersports is an international extreme sports series that is intense and sees athletes bring unparalleled precision, power and speed to the competition.
And 25 year old Mittagong resident, David Reumer is one off the best to do it.
He's the reigning World and Australian Rookie Champion (under 25s) and this is his first year in the Men's Championship.
Due to the COVID-19 situation, the competition is usually held on the Gold Coast and St Kilda Foreshore with thousands of fans in attendance.
This year, it's going online.
A virtual championship.
Held in four Australian locations, all participants fighting for the title of STIHL Timbersports Virtual Champion.
Event director, Lee Gooch said despite the challenges thrown at the sport both internationally and locally due to Covid-19, they are thrilled to be able to bring the event to life in a virtual format that's safe for athletes, officials and fans.
"Continued border closures have forced the series to think a little differently to ensure its growing fan base still get the chance to see their favourite athletes compete again in 2020," Mr Gooch said.
"So that was how the plan to hold the world's first STIHL Timbersports Virtual Championship was born.
"Holding the competition virtually will allow us to continue the great momentum we've achieved with the series in Australia of late.
"This ensures our growing fan base getting to witness the incredible precision, power, speed and sportsmanship of these athletes in what is guaranteed to be a high-energy, high-excitement event."
With people experiencing downtime during COVID, Reumer is chomping at the bit to get out there and compete.
"COVID has pretty much brought all competitions to a halt," Reumer said.
"To be honest, I haven't been staying in competition shape. I had a bit of break from it all.
"I'm heading into this fresh and certainly won't be over trained. It's been a bit of a funny year, so it's hard to put too much pressure of yourself.
"I'm going in there to have fun and get the best times I can deliver."
The goal is always to win, try my guts out and get the big W.
- David Reumer.
Usually being cheered on by thousands of cheering fans, the virtual competition will take away crowd participation.
But, that doesn't seem to faze Reumer.
"You get used to the crowd hyping you up before a competition," Reumer said.
"But, at the same time I don't pay too much attention to it.
"I do like having a loud crowd, but I don't think it will affect my performance too much.
"Hopefully I go all right."
Winning is the ultimate goal, but there is more on Reumer's mind heading into the STIHL Timbersports Virtual Championship.
"The goal is always to win, try my guts out and get the big W," Reumer said.
"But, I really want to try and get some good times on the board and match it with these blokes who have been doing it a lot longer than I have.
"It'd be nice to get a good, clean run in the hot saw and not get disqualified. Those are my goals for the day."
2020 may have been a much more quite one than Reumer expected, but 2021 could be a big one for the maple slayer.
"After the virtual championships, I'll probably have the rest of the year off," Reumer said.
"Then in 2021 I'll start training again. Hopefully I can get the win at the STIHL Timbersports Virtual Championship this year, so I can come back and do it all again, but in front of a crowd in 2021."
The STIHL Timbersports Virtual Championships will be streamed on Facebook and YouTube on November 15, 2020.
