Literally.
Michaela Bolzan from Creative & Co has come up with the idea to hold a Festival of Lights in Bowral this December.
After travelling to Italy over the past years just before Christmas to buy stock, Michaela was amazed by the beautiful displays of Christmas lights she saw, from the smallest towns to bigger cities like Milan.
And now, she hopes to replicate this here in the Highlands.
Michaela is calling on Bowral businesses to decorate their shops with Christmas lights from December 1 to 27.
After sending out an email promoting the idea to her mailing list, Michaela said she has already been inundated with positive feedback.
A lady from Newcastle has already booked five nights accommodation in the Highlands during December.
"It's been a dark year for the world and what a great way to have something that's bright and light and positive and has the spirit of Christmas behind it," Michaeala said.
"I just felt that after such a challenging year, that this Christmas it would be nice just to have something that was a little bit positive in our lives."
While generating some much-needed Christmas cheer will be a big part of festival, Michaela hopes local businesses will also be able to reap some economic rewards from it.
"We want to get people out and shopping locally.
"It's great for locals to be able to wander around our town. Maybe it means they stop and have a bite to eat at Harrys so it's got that knock on effect for local businesses as well."
And Michaela's advice for businesses who jump on board?
"Go crazy!"
