He's been everything from a player to a coach to a committee member and a club sponsor.
And on Saturday, he played his 100th game for Mittagong Cricket Club.
But it took him a while to get there.
He joined the Mittagong club back in 2011 as a senior player and his company has also sponsored the Lions for several years.
And when the club did not field any junior teams, Rob jumped in to help get the juniors and up and running again.
Last season he went to Moss Vale Cricket Club to help the seniors rebuild.
This decision left him on 99 club games for Mittagong.
He had been presented with a 100 game shirt before he left but Rob said he refused to wear it until he had reached the milestone.
"It's something I wanted to do."
Now president of the Marulan Cricket Club, Rob returned for a one-off appearance in second grade to have finally played his 100th game for Mittagong.
"I was a little bit nervous," he said.
One of his good mates Steve Allport also came back to play in Saturday's match and celebrate Rob's achievement.
"He's a great player and a great mate. He came back to play on the weekend. He just wanted to play a game with me. It's been four or five years since we've been able to play on the same field," Allport said.
"I love Mittagong, it's a great club. Being out on the field, fielding and laughing with my teammates are definitely fond memories."
Passionate about the game, Rob is all about getting more people involved.
"I want to see kids play the great game game we play. If I'm going to be there, I may as well help out as much as I can," he said.
"Numbers and people helping, that's the biggest thing we need. We need people wanting to play."
While Rob knows many people are time poor these days, he still believes sport is an important part of Aussie life and hopes people will continue to be a part of cricket.
"Get out and give it a go."
