Footy is finally back this weekend. Community football competitions in south-western Sydney's Wests Tigers Macarthur District, Canterbury District and Group 6 Region are set to kick-off this weekend, August 1-2. "I appreciate the patience that has been shown by all our players, coaches, officials and volunteers in south-western Sydney who have been looking forward to being involved with Rugby League again. "This season has been a challenging one for all of us and I would remind everyone to still adhere to all the guidelines and advice issued by the government and health authorities around COVID-19. "I hope everyone connected with the game enjoys their time back on the field this weekend and I wish you all the very best of luck for the season ahead." Individual teams (from those areas) playing in Combined Conference competitions can also return to play. Under rule changes implemented by the NSWRL to adhere to government COVID-19 guidelines, the matches missed over the past two weeks will be registered as a draw for both teams.
