Calvin Pittard adopted part of the Wombeyan Caves Road between Bullio and High Range as a litter free zone.
Fed up with the rubbish that lined the road, Mr Pittard put a sign up to call the litterbug out.
"It is amazing the quantity and frequency which is sad since I can't image why anyone would want to pollute this pristine area," he said.
"There is random litter and 'weekend litter' but the sad fact is someone who lives locally consistently littered.
"They tossed Mcdonalds and cigarette packs at the very same spot. It is just before they get home to their spouse who may not approve? Who knows?"
However, Mr Pittard's sign seems to have done the trick and has stopped the litterbug in their tracks.
"It seems that the person has taken down the sign and has changed their behaviour," he said.
"I haven't seen any rubbish from last Friday."
Residents who witness incidents of illegal dumping of rubbish are urged to contact council rangers on 4868 088. Any information received will be held in strict confidence.
