Newest Robertson Rover's, Phaedon Page and Clarke Graham got out on the pitch for their first ever game and loved every second of it.
Clarke Graham loved his first game and can't wait to get back out on the pitch.
"I loved kicking the ball and cheering on my friends," Clarke said.
"When they scored a goal I would clap and cheer for them. I also loved tackling the opposite team when they would come near."
With Clarke's dad Ross Graham coaching the Under 6 Maroon team, Clarke gets to learn from his favorite athlete each game and hopefully those teachings will take him to future stardom.
"My daddy is my favourite athlete," Clarke said.
"One day I'd like to play for Sydney FC, Liverpool or Socceroos."
Phaedon Page's dad Mitchell said Phaedon was a bit nervous, but excited also.
"After having participated in only one training session, ever, he was both excited and nervous," Mitchell said.
"The morning started out with "I can't wait to play soccer" to "I don't want to play soccer again" back to "I love soccer". He'll be back next week, and is looking forward to his next training session this week."
COVID got in the way of the Under 6 team getting to really know one another, but they now have all season to become friends.
"I don't think Phaedon remembered any of the players in his team," Mitchell said.
"He had only met them once before during a short training session on the eve of the COVID lockdown.
"So it was like meeting everyone for the first time again!"
Both players love donning the mighty maroon for Robertson and it was a great feeling putting it on for the first time.
"Putting on the uniform for the first time was a pretty exciting moment," Phaedon said.
"During the game I was a bit nervous, but I had my mum on the sidelines cheering me and the team on.
"I'm excited to keep making friends and being a part of a team.
"As Emmet from The Lego Movie says: "Everything is awesome when you're part of a team."
