Debuting for the Mittagong Wildcats in wing attack, Heidi Evison was smiling ear-to-ear as she stepped on the court for the first time.
To make her debut even better, the Wildcats came away with a victory.
"I loved my first game. It was really fun," Heidi said.
"Especially when we won. But, the other team tried really hard and almost beat us."
COVID has had kids cooped up and unable to be playing sports with their mates. Now that restrictions have eased for some sporting codes, friendship and sport are back in the Highlands.
"I was so excited to play my first game of netball, but we had to wait a long time because of Coronavirus," Heidi said.
"It was so good to finally play with my friends and against my friends in the other team."
Heidi's showed in her first game she has a healthy sporting drive, respect and love for teamwork. She's looking to be an absolute future star.
"It was really exciting when we started winning. Our team played really well together," Heidi said.
"I really look up to my coach Lilly. She is a really good player and the best coach.
"I'm playing mostly just for fun and to see my friends, but I would also love to play for Australia one day."
