About 11.20am on Thursday July 16, 2020, a 10-year-old girl was riding her bicycle on Erith Street, Bundanoon, when she was approached by a vehicle.
Police have been told a green campervan pulled alongside the child and the driver spoke to her, offering her confectionery he had in the back.
The girl immediately fled on her bike and reported it her family.
About 12.30pm, officers attached to The Hume Police District were notified and commenced investigations, canvasing the area for CCTV of the vehicle.
"The newly opened Skate Park in Bundanoon has been very popular with young people within the community and police want to ensure their safety." The Hume Police District Crime Manager, Detective Chief Inspector Brendan Bernie said.
"The young girl involved deserves praise for leaving the area and immediately telling family."
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his 20s and wearing a straw brim hat.
Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to contact Southern Highlands Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
