Renowned Australian entertainer Noeline Brown OAM was one of four industry icons to be included on the 2020 Australian Legends of Comedy stamp issue.
Benny, who plays troubled and entitled rich teenager, Hendrix Greyson, on Neighbours describes his inclusion in the latest stamp release as "pretty cool".
The 21-year-old performer went straight from a role in the stage production of Saturday Night Fever in Sydney to the Neighbours' set in Melbourne about 11 months ago to take up the role of Hendrix.
"It was unusual how I got the part," he said.
"My manager had sent photos of me to the Neighbours' directors, but they said I wasn't the right fit.
"At about the same time I had filmed a self-tape with another actor in the Saturday Night Fever cast and sent that to the Neighbours' directors."
That self-tape changed the opinion of the directors and Benny was called up for an audition for the role of Hendrix.
"Usually you go through a series of auditions and cuts, and they can get quite brutal," he said.
"I ended up only doing two auditions and they changed the role of the character to better suit me.
"That is something that rarely happens, but it's all about getting the perfect fit.
"I had a feel for the character and that helped me get the role."
The character of Hendrix is a 17-year-old wealthy teenager with a a chip on his shoulder.
He first came into the show 11 months ago as a teen who had moved from Sydney to Ramsay Street.
"He is a spoilt brat who behaves like he doesn't have a care in the world, and he quickly wreaks havoc," Benny said.
"But he is also a bit of a sook with a soft centre."
There is, however, more to Hendrix than initially met the eye of Neighbours' viewers.
Benny said the character is starting to evolve.
"The walls are being broken down and a different side to Hendrix is coming through," he said.
The character also has a strong link to Neighours' early days with Hendrix's new girlfriend, Harlow (Jemma Donovan), played by the daughter of a series' original Jason Donovan.
Neighbours has been on a month's break from filming due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions.
Filming restarted on April 27 with Benny returning to the set to begin filming his scenes on April 30.
