Traditionally a gift to mark a 60th wedding anniversary, this years theme will be diamonds and all things sparkling.
The theme will transform the Southern Highlands once again into a dazzling display of tulips, blossoming trees and cool climate annuals.
Also marking 60 years in the Southern Highlands is this year's Tulip Time Charity Partner - Can Assist Southern Highland.
Can Assist Southern Highlands Branch is run by volunteers who are committed to ensuring that Southern Highlanders diagnosed with cancer are able to access the cancer treatment and care they require.
The group will be running several activities during Tulip Time to raise awareness of the works they do and to raise funds.
President of Can Assist Southern Highlands Jenny Harper OAM said that the announcement of Can Assist Southern Highlands as the 2020 Tulip Time Charity Partner was very much welcomed by the members of our Charity.
"This partnership will enable the Charity an opportunity to raise further funds and help raise awareness of the financial and practical support we provide to Wingecarribee Shire residents living with cancer," she said.
Destination Southern Highlands Tourism & Economic Development Group Manager, Steve Rosa, said that Tulip Time was a great way for the local community to Share the Love by supporting the event and its partner charity Can Assist Southern Highlands by inviting their friends and relatives to visit during the Festival held in Spring from 22 September to 5 October.
"There are also numerous opportunities for Wingecarribee residents, associations and groups to get involved this year and showcase their pride in the Southern Highlands, from participating in the Tulip Time Lantern Procession along Bong Bong Street; schools performing in Corbett Gardens, primary schools and kindergartens creating hanging tree chandeliers and lanterns, or volunteering to be a Tulip Time Greeter," he said.
Work has commenced to produce an exciting festival program and activities for both locals and visitors to entertain all ages including:
- The Tulip Time Lantern Procession - Tuesday 22 September 6.00-6.30pm, Bong Bong Street, Bowral
- 60th Celebrations with live music & kids activities - Tuesday 22 September 6.00-8.30pm, Corbett Gardens, Bowral
- Daily entertainment provided by local schools, choirs, dancers, bands and musicians, Corbett Gardens, Bowral
