The same breeze is blowing as I write this report. Is the Black NorEaster back to Fitzroy Falls for the Summer holidays?
In Race 1 the big catamarans scorched around the triangular course with all three placings going to them while the Lasers fought out the minor placings. Phil Wales with crew Ella and Adel won from John Smale and Dave Morrow both sailing A Class catamarans.
In Race 2 it was looking like another cat walkover but the longer course allowed the Lasers to get amongst the podiums.
The Lasers and the Melges 14 were having a terrific battle within the race and it was a close thing. Greg Naylor on his Laser Radial beat Dave Morrow on his A Class cat by one second on handicap for second place. It was Andrew Ostredge on his Windrush 14 cat "The Rodent" who sailed into first place. Results were:
Race 1 - 1st Phil Wales Nacra 5.8 cat, 2nd John Smale A Class cat, 3rd Dave Morrow A Class cat
Race Two - 1st Andrew Ostredge Windrush 14 cat, 2nd Greg Naylor Laser Radial, 3rd Dave Morrow A Class cat
