We are ending 2019 on a high, with a recently awarded grant from Veolia Mulwaree to provide a picnic setting in the garden, which follows our earlier grant for a playground.
We are thrilled that we can offer a picnic setting to encourage the community to experience the fabulous summer season in the garden.
Around 450 community members supported our grant application to Veolia Mulwaree by signing a 'letter of support' for the picnic setting.
The picnic table has wheelchair access at one end and will be positioned under a large roof shelter for sun and rain protection, all secured to a concrete base.
So, we encourage families and friends to come and have a picnic during the summer, as the garden will be open every day, even over the festive season.
And, talking of the festive season, our Christmas picnic and plant sale will be a bobby-dazzler this year.
The plant sale will tempt everyone with gorgeous plants just busting to be planted in the garden, already in flower, ready to impress.
This year we will feature quite a range of hydrangeas, campanulas, salvias, penstemon, and plenty of shade-loving hostas and coral bells.
The Christmas picnic on December 7 will have a barbecue, bar and live music to entertain everyone and you are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy in a happy environment.
The festivities will kick off at 4pm, focusing on the plant sale, with the rest of the evening devoted to having a relaxing and good time.
So please, bring your family and friends to join us on Saturday, December 7 from 4pm at the garden. Entry by donation.
