Wingecarribee Health Association for Men (WHAM) Inc will be tackling the tough topics as part of Men's Health Month in November.
The organisation will present a series of presentations over the four weeks of November in the St Jude's auditorium, Bowral.
These will include:
November 7 - Wise up on drugs presented by Johan and Russell from Odyssey House. This presentation will look at addiction, what it is, how it happens and the main street drugs of concern. It will also provide information on how to identify a problem and how you can help children and grandchildren to stay drug safe. November 14 - On the go with arthritis presented by Andrew and Cat from Arthritis NSW. This presentation will look at what is arthritis, what causes it, how you can manage yours or your partner's arthritis, details about diet and nutrition, and possible cures. Details: www.arthritisnsw.org.au
November 21 - Sugar hits by Cheryl from diabetes NSW. What is diabetes, how to avoid it, how to know if you have it, what is hyperglycemia, what diabetes can do to you, how to manage it, what help is available and nutrition with be among the discussion topics. Details: diabetesnsw.com.au/
November 28 - Being a man in 2020 will be presented by Gavin and Vic of St Jude's Bowral. Why are things so different now for men in 2020, who changed my role as a man, isn't earning a crust good enough anymore, what happened to chivalry and where/what is my meaning and purpose will be among the questions addressed.
