I am trying to contact retired Colonel Tim Frost who I understand may live in the Southern Highlands.

My sister-in-law, Colleen Clarke, worked at the Army Staff College Queenscliff and was a nanny for his children in the late 70s.
Sadly Colleen passed over last Friday (September 27) . She was living in Hastings Victoria and had lost contact with Frosty as she knew him.
My brother John would like to make contact as the last time he spoke with Frosty was at their wedding in 1982. If you have any information please call me on 0429 957 505

Drug test distraction
The Morrison government is using its proposal to drug test unemployed people on Newstart as a distraction from the government's failure to repair the structural faults in our Australian labour market.
There are many more unemployed and underemployed people than there are full-time job vacancies.
This is particularly true in regional areas like ours.
Many employers report that the skill sets they need in newly created jobs are not available from the people who apply for those jobs.
This is because the government has failed over many years to use the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system, including state TAFE systems, to provide affordable and regionally accessible retraining opportunities for unemployed people in job skills areas needed in the emerging economy.
Drug testing will achieve nothing and will actually divert much needed funds from job retraining programs. We expect better from our governments.

Where is the parade?
I must confess I enjoy Tulip Time. I could do without the lack of parking or the people who drive without paying attention to the road rules, but as for the festival itself...well I really enjoy it. I look forward to seeing how the plants are set out in the garden beds at Corbett Gardens, I enjoy the activities in the town and I generally just love looking at the colourful flowers that pop up.
Sadly one of those activities that I have loved in the past seems to be no more. I am talking about the Tulip Time parade. This parade was an event that set the feel for the Tulip Time Festival. Without it this year's festival seems a little incomplete - the tulip walk was fine but a bit understated and underwhelming. Some traditions just shouldn't be broken.
