Police attached to Ku-Ring-Gai and Hills Highway Patrol were conducting high visibility patrols along the Hume Highway in Phesants Nest on Monday morning.
During this time, police checked a silver Mazda 3 sedan with a NSW registration, which they later discovered had been allegedly unregistered from August 12, 2019.
Police spoke to a 20-year-old male driver and his 28-year-old female passenger.
It was revealed that on August 30 and 31, the male driver had been stopped and spoken to in relation to the use of the unregistered motor vehicle, during which time a number of infringement notices were issued.
The male was breath tested which returned a negative result.
He was subsequently subjected to a roadside Oral Fluid Test which returned a positive indication to methamphetamines.
Police then searched the vehicle, locating a blue coloured pillow on the passenger side floor.
An inspection of the pillow revealed it to have been partially hollowed out with a thermal bag located inside the pillow containing a white power substance believed to be methamphetamines.
