The student at Bowral High School is the ambassador for Dare for a Cure.
On September 6 more than 90 CEOs and business leaders will step out of their comfort zone and complete dares to raise money for cancer research.
Dares include snake baths, public tattooing, a flying trapeze, bug-eating, fire and glass walking, and ice baths.
Getting into the spirit of the event, Mackenzie and her sister Jordan will take on the trapeze and their mother Errin will get a tattoo.
Errin said her family wanted to raise "as much money raised as possible so no other child has to go through what Mackenzie has gone through".
"Their laughter will make your heart melt, their strength will make a grown person cry. If you ever see a child fight cancer, it will change your life forever," she said.
In 2016 at the start of the school holidays Errin received a call from her eldest daughter Jordan - Mackenzie was feeling dizzy, losing colour and her lips were turning white.
Errin hurried home and immediately took Mackenzie to the doctor.
The pair were rushed to the emergency department and then to Sydney Children's Hospital.
"They didn't know if we'd have enough time to drive her to the hospital or if we'd have to fly via helicopter," Errin said.
Tests determined the happy, healthy, active little girl had acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.
Mackenzie spent the next four months in hospital undergoing intense and toxic treatment that wreaked havoc on her body.
In April 2018, after two years of treatment, the brave girl completed her final chemotherapy session.
"She's a superhero," Errin said.
Dare for a Cure will be held on September 6 at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney.
