CWA meeting
Moss Vale CWA will hold its next meeting at 66 Elizabeth Street on May 31 at 11.30am. The group will be given a report on the CWA conference that was held at Albury after which there will have lunch together and the meeting will start at 1pm. Singalong
A singalong will be held at Mittagong Uniting Church on May 27. All interested people are welcome to the event that will begin at 1.45pm. Entertainment will include the U3A Scottish Country Dancers. English lessons
Free English lessons are now on offer each Thursday at the Moss Vale Presbyterian Church. The lessons are for those keen to learn English as their second language. They will be held from 1.30pm to 2-30pm. Further details: 0451 234 323.
Scottish dance
Did you join in the Dashing White Sergeant at Brigadoon? Would you like to learn more and improve your balance, stimulate your mind, enjoy the music and learn jigs, reels and strathspeys? Southern Highlands Scottish Dancers are keen to share their skills with others. All dances are walked through first and new dancers are welcome. The group meets at Moss Vale Uniting Church hall each Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.30pm with lessons led by accredited teacher Helen Wales. A fee of $6 is charged and a light supper is provided. Participants get to put their newfound dance skills to the test at special events held during the year including a Spring and Christmas Social. Morning tea and support
Every Friday morning between 10am and midday the foyer of the Mittagong Anglican Church is open to the public for free morning tea. The church's professional barista knows how to make one of the best coffees in town. A professional counsellor offering free support to those who might want to talk privately is also available. Come and join the group and make new friends in a relaxed and warm environment. St. Stephens Church is on the corner of Station and Main Streets and has been reaching out to the community for more than 140 years.
Toastmasters
The Southern Highlands Toastmasters is held on the second and fourth Monday of each month at Mittagong RSL Club from 7.30pm. Toastmasters provides an opportunity for people to learn how to speak in public in a relaxed environment. Details: Colin Emerson on 0429 389 744.

Bereavement support
The Southern Highlands Bereavement Care Service Suicide Bereavement Support Group is held on the first Tuesday of each month. This is facilitated by bereavement counsellors Donna and Jo-Anne. This group will be ongoing and held from 6.30pm to 8.00pm each month in Bowral. If you are living with grief after the suicide death of a family member or friend, you are encouraged to come along to the group. Meetings are held at in Bowral at a location yet to be advised. Folk dance
Do you enjoy dancing or would you like to learn to dance? Here's a great opportunity not to be missed. Dance your way around the world with folk dances taught in easy steps. New Tai Chi
A new Tai Chi class with Thelma will commence on June 4 at 1pm at the Mittagong Seniors Club. Meanwhile a new ukulele class with Shirley will begin on June 6 at 11.30am. The Serniors Club meets at its Queen Street premises, next to the library. Details: Shirley on 0404 957 710.
Seniors' Club
Mittagong Seniors' Club meets each Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 2.30pm at the Community Centre in Queen Street, Mittagong. Come for morning tea at 10am to learn more. Activities include craft, games, ukulele and various outings.
Gentle exercise
A program offering gentle exercise at a gentle pace with a focus on mobility, physical and mental stimulation is available each Thursday at the Bowral Presbyterian Church hall in Bendooley Street, Bowral. Classes are from 11.45am-12.30pm. Details: Margaret 0466 166 866 or 4861 2294.
Bushwalk
Southern Highlands Bushwalkers Inc will head to Meryla for their next trek on June 2. They will tackle Wombat Hill which includes a short steep ascentto Wombat Hill overlooking Kangaroo Valley. They will then head to the Trig with an optional off-track exploratory walk for the more adventurous, provided time allows. The group will also take in Rebecca's View. The walk will feature a mix of fire trail and rough off-track covering about 13km (not including the optional extra). Details: Julie on 0408 480 150.
