Independent candidate for Wollondilly Judith Hannan has opened an office on Bong Bong Street in Bowral next to the Bowral Cafe and Patisserie.
For Mrs Hannan, the move was a case of full circle.
"I used to work there as an optometrist," she said.
"The move is to show people I'm here to stay, I'm not passing through.
So far Mrs Hannan has had a few dozen people drop in, with concerns relating to transport and health services.
The office will be open from 10am to 2pm on Monday to Friday, open from 9am to 1pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday.
Highlanders are welcome to drop in during these hours to discuss electorate issues as well as pick up pre-polling information and postal vote forms.
If Judith is not in the office, you can call her on 0414 557 799 or contact her via www.judy.org.au.
