The average price of unleaded petrol has jumped by 18.4 cents per litre to 142.7 cents per litre in Mittagong, after several weeks of the town being among the top five cheapest places to fill up the car.
Last week the average price of Mittagong unleaded fuel was 124.3 cents per litre and was the fifth cheapest NRMA-monitored location to fill up in regional NSW.
Across regional NSW, the past week average regular unleaded prices rose 2.2 cents per litre and diesel prices rose 1.3 cents per litre this past week.
Mittagong had the highest increase in regional NSW.
It was bad news for motorists who fill up with diesel too, with an increase of 4.2 cents per litre in Mittagong.
Meanwhile Moss Vale motorists had an increase of 10 cents per litre for regular unleaded petrol.
The NRMA's Bowser Buster monitors 57 regular unleaded and diesel locations and ranks the cheapest and dearest locations for unleaded and diesel petrol.
The NRMA has been contacted for comment regarding the increases.
