Local communities are invited to celebrate by hosting events featuring music, art, recreational activities and much more.
Many of us, especially as we get older, fall into the trap of filling our time with tasks we think we have to do, instead of things we really want to do.
What happens?…we end up not doing those things that make us happy.
We need to learn how to say no, delegate some tasks and try to do something each day, or at least each week, to make us feel happy.
It’s important to have a good quality of life at any age, but even more so as seniors.
We all understand the importance of regular medical check-ups to ensure our physical health is maintained, but what about feeling happy, satisfied and involved?
If you are a carer for an older person for example, let them help with tasks they are able to perform, as we all need to feel useful.
Staying physically active, even mildly active, makes us feel better.
Keeping our brain active improves our overall well-being.
Staying connected to family, friends and the community is proven to increase our general health.
Interchange Australia has a wide range of activities you can participate in and can arrange services to support you to access an activity in the local community or to visit a friend.
We have both subsidised and fee-for-service options so please contact us on 1300 112 334 and have a chat with one of our friendly consultants.
