During the two week festival, Karen Mewes will teach seniors the importance of computer security, online shopping, whether to buy a tablet or iPad and how to use them. The CTC also holds regular technology classes for a low cost.
The first free class on February 14 between 10:30 am and 11:30 am, will help seniors determine whether the tablet or iPad is the right choice.
The second free workshop will teach seniors some tricks and tips for using either a tablet or iPad. These sessions are normally $5 but will be free for the the two weeks of the seniors festival. The two free sessions will be on February 14 and February 21 from 1:30 pm – 3:00pm.
There will also be a free workshop for online shopping, which will address safety concerns and feeling overwhelmed by all the options available. The workshop will be on February 15 from 10:30 am – 12:00pm.
The last free session is on scams, passwords and computer safety. This class will deal with spotting deals and scams and creating strong passwords. Class will begin at 10:30 am –12:00pm (one hour talk time plus time for questions) on February 22.
