It’s not every day you get the opportunity to celebrate a 200th birthday.
Celebrate Mary Ann McGlynn nee’ Chalker’s big milestone this weekend with a family reunion for several family lines from across the Highlands.
The event will be held at Welby Community Hall from 9am to 1.45pm.
Line representative Lyn Scaysbrook would like as many members, family and friends as possible to join her and members of the Mary Ann Line in celebrating the 200th anniversary of Mary Ann’s birth.
Attendees are encouraged to share their own memories at the reunion.
This includes photographs, memorabilia, family history and stories while meeting new members of the family as well as renewing old acquaintances.
Family names associated with Mary Ann Chalker include Walker, McGlynn, William, Wilkins, Sheather, McGrath, Cavanagh, Watts, Duck, Gobert, Brown, Jackson, Rhind, Sutcliffe, McDonald, Chesney, Gambell, Tucker, Webster, Roxburgh, Wright, Russell, Bernarding, Audet, Dowling, Kerslake and Caites.
The schedule for the day will be as follows:
9am: Displays set up prior to the meeting
10am: Brief ordinary meeting of the society
10.30am: Registration with tea/coffee and biscuit provided viewing of displays
12.30pm: Lunch (bring your own picnic lunch – tables available in the hall)
1.45pm: Guest speaker and cutting the cake
