Moss Vale and Bowral crews arrived with a pumper vehicle and a hazmat vehicle at about 8pm.
According to a Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman, crews responded to reports of a “suspicious substance in a green mail bag” at the station.
According to the spokesman, a female employee was exposed to the substance and suffered some nausea.
Several other employees were also exposed to the substance but did not show any exposure symptoms.

The firefighters entered the building in fully encapsulated suits and placed the bag in a 50-litre hazmat bin and sealed it.
After this, police officers took custody of the hazmat container.
According to NSW Ambulance media, one ambulance arrived at 8.20pm and left at 8.40pm.
No one was transported to hospital.
The substance has not yet been identified. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
