The family-owned winery was recognised at Government House in Sydney on October 19 after winning the Chair of Judges Award for Best Southern Highlands Wine.
Winemaker Jonathan Holgate accepted the award from NSW Wine Awards judges chair Dave Brookes and Governor of NSW David Hurley and said it was a great feeling to have the new wine recognised.

“It’s great for the 2018 wine to get recognition. This season has been one of our better years,” Mr Holgate said.
“The last few years have been quite challenging for the region, but 2018 should be a good year for everyone. We’ve started off with a good season of fruit and I’ll be making sure I see it through to the bottle,” he said.
The competition was judged in the Southern Highlands for the first time with Eling Forest Winery hosting 16 judges from around Australia for the three-day event.
Mr Holgate, who has been a judge at the competition in the past, said it was great to see the wine awards travel around the state over the past few years, moving the competition to a new region every year.
“It is difficult for our region to get recognition sometimes, being that we’re still so new. Hopefully we’ll see a few more wines doing well from this year once when they’re bottled.”
