VolWing Learner Driver Mentor Program (VLDMP) is a grassroots community based program designed to support disadvantaged new drivers, aged between 16 and 24 years, to become licensed by allowing them use of a vehicle for on-road practice while a volunteer mentor supervises them.
Mentor Drivers are needed to act as supervising drivers and mentors to new leaner drivers. As a supervising driver you will ensure that the leaner driver completes their log book correctly and gains experience in a range of driving conditions including night driving.
To be a mentor driver for VLDMP you will need the following:
- A full NSW drivers licence
- A good driving record
- A Police check
- A working with children check
- A willingness to work with people from a wide range of community and cultural groups.
It costs you nothing to be a mentor driver and a training course has been designed by NSW YouthSafe for mentor drivers.
Bowral Public School are in need of volunteers to work in their canteen. The school is located in Bendooley Street, Bowral and the bus stop is located right outside the school, if required.
