Wingecarribee received the funding as part of round  of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund (SCCF).

The projects include the Stephens Park playing fields drainage project in Bowral ($113,572), the Berrima Marketplace all abilities playground upgrade ($239,990) and renewal of the Bundanoon Skate Park ($416,304).

The confirmation of the grants follows this month’s earlier announcement that the Bowral Blacks Rugby Club would receive $991,330 in funding for the redevelopment of their multi-purpose Eridge Park sports facility.

Mayor Ken Halstead said this latest round of grants was evidence of the State Government’s confidence in the shire to deliver major infrastructure projects of community significance.

“Council is delighted with this latest announcement and we thank both the Members for Goulburn and Wollondilly for their continued support of our Shire,” he said. 

“I also commend the State Government on making these funds available and ensuring regional NSW continues to provide first-class amenities for all its citizens to enjoy. I would also acknowledge the staff of council and the community groups who worked together on these applications for getting them over the line.”

Funds on all projects must be used within two years.
