NRMA head of media Peter Khoury said while Sydney petrol prices were expected to drop by about 20 cents per litre in the coming weeks, Southern Highlands prices were expected to remain high.
“I don’t think the Southern Highlands has done well. There are some towns that are smaller that have more local competition, therefore you see cheaper prices,” Mr Khoury said.
According to MotorMouth, the average unleaded petrol price was 155.1 in Mittagong, and the average price was 150.0 in Moss Vale.
Motorists that fill up with diesel can expect to pay an average price of 155.2 in Moss Vale and 154.1 in Mittagong.
