Out of 57 regional NSW locations on a NRMA weekly petrol report, Mittagong topped the list with an average regular unleaded price of 156.9 cents per litre for the week ending on Sunday, May 27.
This was an increase of 6.8 cents per litre from the previous week ending Sunday, May 20.
In Moss Vale the average regular unleaded price was 155.3 cents per litre in the week ending on May 27.
This was an increase of 8.2 cents per litre compared to the week ending on May 20.
Up the road at Goulburn, the average unleaded price was 152.0 for the week ending on Sunday, May 27.
This was a jump of 8.2 cents per litre, compared to the previous week’s price of 143.8 cents per litre.
There was an increase in diesel prices across the Highlands, with 155.2 cents per litre in Mittagong and 154.7 cents per litre in Moss Vale in the week ending on May 27.
This was an increase of 1.3 cents per litre for Mittagong and 2.7 cents per litre for Moss Vale.
Goulburn motorists filled up their cars with diesel for less, with an average price of 153.1 cents per litre.
Over the past week, the average Mogas price rose 0.7 cents per litre, while the Australian dollar rose 0.5 cents to 75.7 cents against the US dollar.
Given current market forces, average unleaded petrol prices are expected to fall to 141 cents per litre in the next two to three weeks.
In the past week, average regular unleaded prices rose 3.9 cents per litre and 2.2 cents per litre in regional NSW areas.
Over the previous week, the average crude oil price rose 0.2 cents per litre and Sydney’s Terminal Gate Price for regular unleaded petrol increased two cents per litre to 139.8 cents per litre.
