Under the leadership of Tyson Robb, the community collected more than 1000 signatures asking Wingecarribee Shire Council to fund the upgrade.
On April 17, Goulburn MP Pru Goward visited the skate park and offered a letter of support.
"Their single ramp is heavily used by kids- who patiently queue for their turn,” she said.
“I was pleased to provide a letter of support and hope Tyson’s dream comes true. Bundanoon shows it has future leaders as strong as those of today.”
The petition is seeking an upgrade of the park to include more facilities.
Tyson, who had the idea to begin a petition, said the current facilities were too small to cater for the number of children who used the skate park each afternoon.
An application for the Stronger Community Fund has been lodged.
The skate park application is currently in stage two.
