The tireless and hard work of volunteers was recognised by the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) board at the annual public meeting on November 3.
The board awarded the Auxiliary with a certificate of appreciation to thank them for their dedication to the hospital.
Founded in 1927 the group raises between $7000 and $10,000 for the hospital every year through raffles, craft stalls and fashion parades.
SWSLHD Board Chair Professor Phillip Harris AM said he was extremely appreciative of the group’s assistance.
“Its always a privilege to be able to celebrate fantastic achievements within the district and it is rare to find a group as committed to the local community as the [Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary],” he said.
“Fundraisers for the hopspital make patients’ stays more comfortable and the money raised helps to buy equipment to improve patient care and supports the work of our doctors nurses and support staff.”
Moss Vale Hospital Auxiliary’s Sandra D’Adam and Penny Barcicki were present to accept the award.
