Rochelle Bray is the organiser of Operation Orange Balloons, an initiative which allows house owners to let trick-or-treaters know if they will be giving out treats for Halloween.
Ms Bray said she decided to put on the operation for the children of the area.
“I’ve had a lot of people say Halloween isn’t Australian, it’s American, and that’s fair enough but these are kids who want to participate,” she said.
“With the amount of decorations and costumes about, we might as well let the kids have fun.”
Ms Bray funds the entire operation herself and walks to each house to drop off one orange balloon and a flyer.
She is currently due to have a baby on November 3, so this year she has called out for volunteers.
“I didn’t want the kids to miss out,” she said.
“I’m also happy to send people the template for the flyer, and then they can buy some more balloons for distribution in their own areas.”
