The bushfire season officially begins on October 1, but an RFS inspector said it was likely to come earlier this year.
RFS, FRNSW and council will host five Bush Fire Ready Workshops in August and September.
The first session will be held on Sunday, August 10 at Mandemar Rural Fire Brigade Station.
Follow-up sessions will be held in Canyonleigh, Penrose, Welby and Colo Vale.
Rural Fire Service inspector David Bartlett said the workshops were a great opportunity to learn from experts.
"It will assist people with their fire plans for the upcoming fire season," he said.
Last October, the Hall Road fire burnt 15,657ha, destroying two houses and six vehicles.
Mr Bartlett said last year’s bushfire highlighted the need to be prepared early.
"It's particularly important in any fire season," he said.
"We could see similar conditions (this year), if not a little drier."
Mr Bartlett said the courses were hands-on and would help people with their bushfire plans.
He said attendees would identify what they need to know, different scenarios and their plans in place.
Bookings are essential.
