Locals were out in force to thank the RFS Brigades which protected their villages from bushfires in October.
At a fundraiser held recently, residents raised $6210 for the RFS, with 280 sausage sandwiches, 160 bacon and egg rolls and countless desserts were sold at the event.
The raffle had 22 great prizes and the silent auction had another 12.
The Hill Top Community Association, the Friends of the Hill Top War Memorial and The Village Shop organised the event on behalf of the residents of Hill Top. Organiser Seamus Byrne said it was a fantastic night.
"The friendly atmosphere was fantastic and everyone said they enjoyed themselves," Mr Byrne said.
"The Hill Top Community Association Inc and The Friends of Hill Top War Memorial Hall together with countless willing helpers came together to serve the food and help with the event."
He said local musicians and singers provided wonderful entertainment for the evening and Elevate Dance Academy from Colo Vale performed as did Gennene Turner's Zumba Ladies Class.
"The wonderful people who donated all the food and prizes are to be congratulated for their community spirit.
"Without their support we would not have been able to hold the event."
Hill Top RFS senior deputy captain Michelle Coates said the money would be used to buy new equipment and upgrade the station.
"Hill Top is a great community. We thought it was wonderful that so many people turned up on such a cold and wet night to support the RFS," she said.
