In fact, the wedding picture and story of the newlyweds took pride of place on the front page of the Southern Highland News on February 12, 1962.
Possibly even better news is that 50 years later, the Moss Vale couple is still going strong.
Communication, and common interests and dreams, are the keys to marital success as far as the couple is concerned.
Those common interests include working in the garden and generally staying busy on their property tending to the animals.
They agree it was a good formula for marital success.
"It must work because we are still talking to each other and enjoying each other's company," Mr Webb said.
Mr Webb, who can't understand what all the fuss is about as far as his marital longevity is concerned, also emphasised that "many of our friends have been married for much longer" as well as others who have achieved a similar marital milestone.
Regardless of whether it is the Webbs or another couple, 50 years of marriage is a great achievement and one that many young newlyweds could look to for inspiration.
The young Miss Cunningham met her future husband through her brothers, Allen and John Cunningham.
"Warren played hockey and basketball with my brothers and I met him when he came to our home," she said.
It was a meeting of destiny with the couple soon marrying at St John's Church of England in Moss Vale.
They went on to have three children, two daughters and a son, who they raised in their Moss Vale home, where they still live today.
They now also have 11 grandchildren.
The couple celebrated their golden occasion with family and friends at the Scottish Arms in Bowral.
Among the guests were members of the bridal party.
