In his first match, playing against the champion from Asquith, Lewis trailed 9-2 early and looked like he was going to go home early.
He then had to prove to himself that he was worthy at playing at this level.
Suddenly, he moved in to top gear and played the draw shot he was capable of and completely outplayed his opponent in what was a good come from behind win.

His next match was against the champion of Ulladulla and again, his appearance looked to be all over. He was completely outplayed by his opponent and trailed 20-10, but then Lewis found a good spell of form and gradually started closing the gap.
He regularly outplayed his opponent but was still behind 24-18.
With his opponent still in the box seat and only needing one shot to win, kept piling on the pressure and won 25-24.
With this win, Lewis had to travel to the Merrylands Bowling Club to play the champion of Mosman the next day.
It was not going to be any easier again as he was behind on the scoreboard 19-3.
This was to big a start to give away and it proved to much for Lewis even though he pegged the scores back to lose 25-14.
Feeling positive, Lewis said he wanted to return next year.
