Jeannine Garrard wore her grandfather's medals with pride to the Exeter Anzac Day service, and does not take his, and the sacrifices of others, for granted.

"The service of the Anzacs has brought us the freedom to play and live our lives freely," she said.
Hundreds gathered in the village to honour the legacies of past and present personnel.
For Stuart Garrard, who wore his father's medals, it was important to pass it onto the younger generations "so it's never forgotten".
The Moss Vale Light Horse Troop attended the service, and captains from Exeter Public School spoke.
Angela Williamson led the service and spoke about the 10 wars, and 34 conflicts Australia has been involved in, the lives lost and those who lived with the traumas.
"These are grim figures to consider, as each represents someone special," Angela Williamson said.
Attendees enjoyed morning tea once the service finished.
