And the cenotaph at the War Memorial Garden in Market Place Berrima looked spectacular at dawn against the misty backdrop.
The crowd of several hundred people gathered under the expanding branches of the more than 130-year-old English Oak to pay their respects to the fallen at the 5.45am Anzac Day service.
The catafalque party travelled from HMAS Albatross in Nowra, the Anzac Address was delivered by Air Vice Marshal Ken Robinson AM CSC, Mahalia Barnes performed Amazing Grace and many stepped up to lay wreaths at the foot of the cenotaph.
The entire service was a fitting tribute to all men and women who have served their country in times of war.
Lest we forget!
