It was the second year in a row for the foursome, who were looking to improve on the previous year.
The championships were played in Dubbo this year and with the support of the ladies club running raffles to help fund the trip, the group had an added incentive to do well.
This year, they won their section which included Neutral Bay, NBC Sports and South Tamworth to advance to the semifinals where they played Soldiers Point.
The match was fairly even and after eight ends the score was 8-8 but by the fourteenth end, Bowral led 16-15.
The 19th end saw them down 22-25 before dropping one shot on each of the last two ends to go down 22-27.
The Bowral Ladies Bowling Club also just held their charity day, with 30 bowlers taking part.
The day was a big success, raising over $980 for "Can Assist."
Reta South, Gail Fraser and Margaret Lawless were the winners.
Men's
Team Rubie won the match of the day at the Bowral Bowling Club following a close four shot win.
Keith Edwards, Terry Norwood and Paul Rubie were too good for Bill Pope, Barry Werfel and John Cummins, winning 23-19.
Team Rubie put in a lot of effort in the first seven ends to go to a 10- 1 lead, but team Cummins made a forward move to narrow the gap to 10-7 at the halfway mark.
Team Rubie, playing top bowls, blew the score out to 20-7 before team Cummins took over the game by scoring twelve shots.
Unfortunately for them, they fell just short.
