Pencil, pen and paint
An animal showcase
See a collection of animals from Australia and beyond that are drawn with charcoal, pens, mixed media and paints. Greg Hyde also depicts the Australian landscape, seascapes, European architecture, and more. See it all at the Milk Factory Gallery from 10 am to 4pm every Thursday to Monday.

Lots of stories
Mittagong artist Annemaree Dalziel is presenting a sensory showcase with woven sculptures, maps, handwritten texts, origami, photos and hand-knitted socks. She has collaborated with artist Jagath Dheeresekara, and nine local descendants of displaced Scottish Gaelic people. It reflects a sense of place, histories and family. See it at the Old Bowral Town Hall with an opening by Djon Mundina Faha OAM on Wednesday, March 27, from 4pm to 6pm. It will be displayed until Saturday, April 6. The space is open from 10am to 5pm daily.
Exhibitions at the SHAC
Lots to see
There are three exhibitions on display at the SHAC in Robertson. Discover Nafisa Naomi's appreciation for nature with her showcase Grandiflora. David Starr's collection of works make up his exhibition Silencio. See Peter Ward's prints, collages and other artworks in Noshyacking. See it all every Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 4pm. The gallery will be closed on Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Sunday.
Historic Berrima walking tour
Lots to see and learn
Discover the rich history of the Georgian village Berrima with a guide. Immerse yourself in history on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30, from 10am to 11am. Attendees are advised to meet at the Surveyor General Inn. Tickets are $35 for adults, $25 for student and concession holders, and free for children under 16. Secure them through Trybooking.
Sydney to Melbourne in memory of Hannah
Raising awareness for mental health
Andrew Forbes is travelling from Sydney to Melbourne by bike to raise funds for Batyr and Beyond Blue. He is honouring the memory of his daughter Hannah who died by suicide, and increase awareness for mental health support. He will cycle through the Highlands on Saturday, March 30, starting at Janeks Cafe at 7am. He will then ride through Moss Vale, Sutton Forest, Exeter, Bundanoon, Penrose and Wingello. Burrawang Easter Market
This weekend
Make your way through Burrawang and immerse yourself in a variety of stalls, foods, arts and crafts from merchants across the Highlands. The popular event will take place on Saturday, March 30 from 8am to 3pm. For the event, Hoddle Street from Church and Region Street, and Crown Street between Dale and Hoddle Street, will be closed on the day for the stalls. No cars are recommended on these streets the night before. People can park in three parking areas and pay $10 per spot. They will pay at designated stands in the main market and a proof of payment will be required as people exit.
Hey Bunny
Easter fun
Children are invited to go on a bunny discovery expedition through Bowral's Dirty Janes with sleuth Drew. There will be games, Easter eggs and a special guest. The rabbit hunt begins at 9am on Saturday, March 30. Tickets are five dollars per child and can be bought at the door, or can be secured by calling 0413 507 537.
Trivia with Portia Turbo
Coming up
Drag queen Portia Turbo will lead this trivia event with a cause. Test your trivia knowledge, bring your own food and drinks, and there will be prizes on offer, along with a silent auction. Proceeds will go to Native Wildlife Rescue in Robertson. Enjoy it all on Saturday, April 6 at 7pm, at Mount Murray Farm (1783 Tourist Road, Mount Murray). tickets are $45 through Humantix.
Vivace Berrima! presents Songs For An April Afternoon
Coming up
Pianist John Martin and tenor Andrew Goodwin will bring pieces by Beethoven and Robert Schumann to life. Enjoy it all on Sunday, April 14 at the Berrima Village Hall from 2.30pm. Autumn school holiday art camps
School holiday fun
Dr Mary Lou Pavlovic will lead creative art classes for kids from the ages of four to 12 years old. Activities include painting, creating landscapes, sculptures and more. They will be held at 3/72 Old South Road, Bowral from Monday, April 15 to Friday, April 26. Classes for four to seven-year-olds will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm, and 1.30pm to 4.30pm for eight to 12-year-olds. It is $135 for a three day camp (Monday to Wednesday), $90 for two days (Thursday and Friday), and $60 for one session. Siblings get a 10 per cent discount.
