Known as the Oscars for small businesses, the award aims to celebrate a company's hard work and dedication.

Mrs Oldbucks Pantry is a finalist in the specialised retail small business category and brand custodian Carol Brown has been nominated for the small business champion entrepreneur.

The small-batch store was named as the best specialised retail business at the awards in 2023.

"It's very exciting, really exciting with the personal nomination," she said.

To be nominated for the second year in a row meant the business was on the right path, she said, and it was another chance to promote Berrima, and the Highlands.

The brand custodian said that it also showed that "old-fashioned retail still has a place, especially in the Highlands".

Hannaford Eyewear, which was named as the best optometrist in 2022, is up for the same award once again, as well as business of the decade.

From the Wollondilly, Kalinya Estate has been nominated in the tourism category and Five Littles is up for the best fast food or takeaway shop.

The winners will be announced at The Star in Sydney on April 12 and 13.
