With a drizzle of rain on Saturday morning, players wondered what to expect in the afternoon, but it turned into a perfect summers day for bowls.
Club manager Tony Dunn and club chairman Stephen Della were both very pleased to announce that $2900 was raised on the day and said everyone who contributed were champions.
All proceeds from the day went towards brain cancer research.
Chris Benton was a much loved member of the club and wife Roz and family members attended on the day.
Playing for the Chris Benton shield, bowlers had a really good battle, with three games off eight ends.
The winners were Ian Duncan, Charles Coode, Joe O'Donnell and Charles Stuart who had three wins and a twelve shot margin.
Runners up were Richard Denman, Mick Flynn, Alistair McGhee and Dugald Braithwaite with three wins and a seven shot margin.
It was a great finish for the day and top bowls were played.
