Robina Beard OAM, who is also a former NSW Seniors Festival ambassador, will join the celebrations at Berrima's Marketplace Park on January 26.
"In the true community spirit of Australia Day in Berrima Village, we are thrilled to host an Australia Day ambassador who holds a special place in the memories of a generation of Australians and has continued to invest her creative talents in giving-back to Australian culture and community," says Wingecarribee Shire Council general manager, Lisa Miscamble.
The citizenship ceremony will begin at 9am and 32 new citizens from the Philippines, South Africa, Germany, the United Kingdom, United States, India, New Zealand, Thailand, Kenya and Isle of Man will be welcomed.
The chosen Local and Young Citizen of the Year, who have been nominated by members of the community, will also be awarded on the day, and congratulated by the ambassador.
"Community members have nominated a number of remarkable individuals they want to see recognized for the unique contribution they've made to their township or village," Ms Miscamble said.
"All are so deserving of our community's appreciation."
There will also be a street parade, market stalls, food and wine from the region, and things for families to enjoy.
Ms Beard OAM has been a familiar face for Aussie households for more than 20 years, and been a part of Australia's arts scene for more than 65 years.
She was awarded an OAM in 2011 for her services to theatre, in particular for dance, and has been bestowed with an Australian Dance Award for Lifetime Achievement.
The name of her memoir pays tribute to her well known line in the Palmolive ad 'My Life: You're Soaking in it'.
The performer also holds tap and exercise classes for seniors.
