Ella Bentley was selected for the Baketball NSW (BNSW) Shootout which is targeted at participants identified as potential participants for the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup and the East Coast Challenge.
Both Lady Dela Cerna and Sabella Watson were chosen too, but were unable to attend due to injury.
Meanwhile, Miles Moss and Ethan Bailey took part in the BNSW Damian Martin Challenge on January 12 at the Maitland Basketball Stadium which is for country u13 boys.
Martin is a former Australian professional basketball player who wants the challenges to be more than what is being taught on the court, but also the life skills and the friendships that country basketball encompasses.
Being selected for the country u13 girls Suzy Batkovic Challenge the day before were coach Zoe Roulston and players Hadley Morgan, Charlotte Stirling and Gabi Von Sperl
Unfortunately, Von Sperl was away in the USA attending the Philadelphia 76'ers and the Golden State Warriors skills camps which was a great achievement in itself.
Looking overseas in the Philippines, Phil Soon hosted a basketball camp for kids in Bohol where Magic player Van Soon also attended the clinic and displayed his skills among some very talented athletes
Phil, who is a long time player, coach and referee at Moss Vale Basketball and is always there to help at the association provided locally made Magic jerseys for all who attended.
He also donated basketballs on behalf of Moss Vale Basketball for the community and said they were all grateful.
