Meta is rolling out a raft of new AI experiences changing the way people use its social media apps.

Unveiled at a keynote address by founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the changes will affect the billions of people who use Instagram, Facebook, Messenger and Whatsapp.
One feature is the new artificial intelligence product called Emu, which can generate images based on text prompts within five seconds to send in group chats or create new stickers to send to friends.
On Instagram, AI editing tools will roll out to allow users to completely restyle a photo or create a new backdrop, with prompts such as "put me in front of a sublime aurora borealis" or "surrounded by puppies".
To prevent the tools being used for misinformation Meta said it will label these photos as created by AI.
The company also announced a basic assistant called Meta AI which users can talk to in its apps with access to real time information, however this is in the US only for now.
"Imagine a group of friends planning a trip together: In a group chat, they can ask an AI assistant for activity and restaurant suggestions.
"In another case, a teacher could use an AI to help create lesson plans that are customised for different learning styles of individual students."

The company also announced a new $770 mixed reality headset, Quest 3, which "blends the physical and digital worlds together" with users navigating with their hands or controllers.
It also launched $460 Ray-Ban smart glasses with built in audio and cameras so wearers can take photos, video or livestream what they're seeing to Facebook or Instagram.
People wearing the glasses will also be able to talk to Meta AI by saying "Hey Meta", however this feature remains in testing phase in the US only.
Holograms to replace physical objects: Zuckerberg
Mr Zuckerberg said the new technologies laid the foundation for a future where "the physical and digital come together into what we call the Metaverse".
"Not too far from now you're going to walk into a room and there are going to be as many holograms and digital things to interact with, as there are physical objects," he said.
"All the paper, the media, the games, the art, your workstation and any screen can all be interactive holograms."
Even when spending time with friends will look like some attending digitally as avatars and holograms, Mr Zuckerberg said.
The company has also flagged a creator studio to be released for people outside of Meta to build their own AI.
