Ms Hannan called out the government on their track record of empty promises when it comes to the project.
"The Wollondilly community has been waiting for movement on the project which has been promised at numerous elections," she said.
"This government has made this promise over and over, yet the Wollondilly community has been waiting for years and years for progress.
"The Coalition at both state and federal levels have repeatedly used the Picton Bypass as an election selling point for themselves, and even put it on their corflutes at the federal election.
"Despite this promise being made over and over, the community has seen little action."
Ms Hannan said the community needed the bypass to relieve congestion and improve safety during emergency events such as bushfires and floods.
"After years of broken election promises and eleventh hour pork-barrelling, the Wollondilly community will be justifiably skeptical about this being more than just pre-election talk," she said.
