The school was awarded a grant by the Veolia Mulwaree Trust in August, to complete a "library revitalisation project".
GPS principal Kylie Pratt said most of the work in the learning space has been completed.
"It was a very old library, it's the oldest building on the site," she said.
The room was "completely gutted" and members of the school's P and C association helped remove and install furniture, and paint the room's walls.
The library is connected to cooking area where students have lessons.
As part of the grant, benches will be installed where students can prepare food, and also taste things they cook.

"It's now a dual-purpose space," the principal said.
The school's P and C treasurer Liz Wilson said the grant gave them the opportunity to "breathe new life into the buildings".
Although it was not included in the grant, the stock of books is also being gradually "replenished".
"At Glenquarry Public School we strive to foster a love of learning it is vital that our students have access to a large range of quality texts," Ms Pratt said.
"We are very excited about using our refreshed library!"
