If anyone takes sandbags from the locations in the Highlands, they must call 132 500 to advise how many they took, which helps SES volunteers stock stations efficiently.
Once sandbags have been collected and used on properties, they are considered contaminated and cannot be collected, and residents must dispose of them properly.
Bags can be spread across lawns or gardens and to then dispose of them in waste bins when they have dried.
If you require assistance during floods and storms, dial 132 500 and in a life-threatening emergency, call triple zero.
