Ted McPhee and Chris Forrester defeated Wal Markow and Arnold Lenczuk 31-11 in the final of the minor pairs.
McPhee and Forrester had their eye on the trophy early in the match when they shot to a 20-9 lead after 11 ends.
On the 13th end Markow and Lenczuk scored two shots but the scoreboard still favoured McPhee and Forrester 22-11.
The last eight ends were all winning ends for McPhee and Forrester who had really got into a rhythm. The only time Markow and Lenczuk looked like picking up shots skipper Forrester would take the shot off them.
In fact on one end, Forrester played a unbelievable shot. Faced with a wall of bowls in front of him, his bowl weaved its way through the smallest of gaps to earn a shot. The opposing skipper was dumbfounded and said what hope has he got after that shot.
Congratulations to Chris and Ted on winning the title, they have recently been in red hot form and carried this through to the final.
To Wal and Arnold, well done to reach the final but it was acknowledged the winners were the best on the day.
