Well, Bowral born Sanchia Gair didn't only do that, but she won the women's section of the Simpson Desert Ultra Marathon on June 3 to 4.
That was the Kiama resident's second ever event and even she shocked herself with the unexpected result.
"I was very surprised with how well I did," Gair said.
"My goal was just to finish the race.
"I didn't realise I was in first until I came into the aid station.
"I had about 12km to go and realised I was the first woman in.
"I did one in the Blue Mountains last year, but the conditions were really bad there, so I didn't do too well in that one."
Gair's success was well deserved though, as she spent a lot of time getting ready.
"I prepared by running over 100km per week and doing a lot of sand runs," she said.
The firefighter decided to take part in the event to support her friend, but also to push herself.
"I had a friend who was running and took part just to support her, but the run wasn't favourable for her," she said.
"I also did it as a challenge and to step out of my comfort zone."
Most people who take part in ultra marathons listen to music while running, but not Gair.
She enjoys the surroundings instead.
"I don't listen to music while I run because I find it very irritating," she said.
"I just admired the view.
"The sunset was absolutely beautiful."
Although winning the women's section was a great individual achievement, Gair wanted to use the opportunity to promote women in sport.
"I'd love to just promote strong women in sport and them pushing themselves to be better," Gair said.
"I'm all about promoting positive healthy, strong women and if I can inspire young women to get into the gym to lift weights, have a positive body image and to push themselves outside of the box, that would be amazing."
