"Both teams, full of young talent with a couple of years left at school, were at times up against bigger, faster and more skilled South Western Sydney students," the school wrote on its Facebook page.
"Our students represented us outstandingly and it really was a team effort by all players across the day."
The girls finished top of their group and entered the quarter finals full of confidence.
However, they let a promising 2-1 goal lead slip and bowed out of the tournament, losing 3-2 in the dying seconds of the game.
Open girls coach Luke Vandenbergh girls was very impressed with his team's performances.
"With many students being younger than year 10 in our teams, they competed strongly in an opens competition," Mr Vandenbergh said.
"They were very unlucky to not progress further having been up 2-1 in their quarter final.
"This is the second year our girls team have made the finals and we are hoping for further success with this team next year."
The Open boys team, on the other hand, were unlucky not to make it to the quarter finals , missing out on goal difference.
